Once the work of a mystery brewer out of Kamloops, B.C., as of 2015 Central City has taken over as brewer of Earl's Restaurants' house beer, "Rhino" (once "Albino Rhino," but changed in light of a dubious human rights complaint).
Not much has *really* changed. Then, as now, the star of the Rhino line-up is their Wheat Ale, a curious little brew that doesn't seem to be certain whether it wants to be a witbier, a hefeweizen, or an American pale wheat. Whatever it is, though, it's surprisingly delicious: gently tart, not too sweet, lightly fruity, strong soda-like effervescence, and nice bright wheat and citrus flavours. Slight clove and coriander. Light body. This is super refreshing, and quite pleasant.
