On-tap at the brewpub.
Pours a clear dark amber color with a one-finger tan head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of caramel malts with small amounts of toastiness. As the beer warms very slight amounts of indistinct medium fruit aromas waft out.
Tastes smoother than it smells. Sweet caramel malt flavors kick things off and are joined quickly by darker toasted malt flavors. The toasted flavors carry through to a moderately bitter ending.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a good thickness with smooth carbonation.
Drinkability is also good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.
Overall this was a solid beer for the style but it was lacking the bready flavors that I've come to expect in the more complex oktoberfests. Still, a good beer that's worth a shot.

Pours a rich, semi-transparent mahogany with a fairly thick light tan head. Aroma is malty and hoppy and has an undertone of spice, mainly cloves. Flavor is mouth-filling and mainly malty and a little spicy. Texture is smooth and very pleasant. A fine fall beer.

The color was a clear medium brown and a decent head. The aroma was surprisingly hoppy. The flavor has a good malt caramel base but I wouldn't call it really malty. The hops came in with a crisp bitterness that made this a very drinkable Oktoberfest.
