Appearance: Served a medium-to-dark brown body, clear, and with a small-sized, light beige head.
Smell: A nose of toasted, far-off stewing fruits, and Dutch cocoa.
Taste: Starts off with toast, than chocolate powder followed by a tiny hint of caramel. Moderately sweet. Develops some bittersweet chocolate earthiness late in the taste. Faint esters. Gentle, lightly chocolaty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Lightly carbonation.
Overall: Has a decent flavor, but the body and carbonation always leave me wanting.

Served in a standard pint the beer is a dark, dark brown with a tan head. Decent lacing.
The nose is of roasted malts and just the faintest whiff of chocolate. I expected more chocolate after listing to the waiter explain the beer.
The taste is sweet with lightly roasted malts. A hint of smoke but barely any chocolate notes. Slightly dry and bit bitter at the end.
Mouth is a trifle thin, but it is an easy enough drinker, but it was not what I was expecting.
