The server described this as an "Imperial Pale Ale" not an India Pale Ale (e.g. IPA). This was the only beer served in a tulip shaped glass. Not even the Abby Style Ale was served in a tulip glass. The beer was a hazy straw yellow color with a decent head that slowly faded with nice lacing. The scent was a sharp hop and citrus nose. Medium/light and crisp mouthfeel. To me this tastes like a standard India Pale Ale and not Imperial anything. For an India Pale Ale it would be OK, not my favorite style but I tasted a lot worse IPAs.

Appearance: Arrives at the table with a hazy amber color and a fluffy white head that leaves sheets of lace
Smell: Ruby red grapefruit with underlying caramel elements
Taste: Starts with a sweet caramel base that has citrusy notes right off the bat; after the swallow, the sweet flavors overwhelm the bitter notes which fade to a somewhat earthy finish
Mouthfeel: Medium/thick body, slightly sticky with moderate carbonation
Drinkability: Overly sweet and not bitter enough for the style; more like an Imperial Pale Ale; tasty, nonetheless
