This was my first Scotch Ale. I had this a few month's ago when I was in Atlanta. It arrived in a pint glass and had a nice copperish hue with no head, some lace. It didn't have too much of a smell. Tast was a different matter, as it very much reminded me of fine scotch.

It's strong point was the mouthfeel. It was amazingly very smooth, probably the smoothest beer I've had to date. A little too sweet for my tastes, it did manage to peak my interest in th style.

Neutral aroma and slighty dark appearance. Lacey. Sour off-taste dominated over any maltiness,if peaty and smokey then just too old, not finishable. Thin, could be some nutmeg here as a winter warmer. Hey it's cold for Atlanta at 40 degrees farenheit for March.

Appearance – This poured a beautiful dark orange in color with a decent head. It was a very inviting drink.

Smell – The light peat complimented what seems to be the brewpub’s signature sweetish malt. It is a very clean aroma.

Taste – This is like a light, malty shot of fine scotch. It even has a small alcoholic kick to it, which is something considering that they don’t currently sell any beer in Atlanta with an ABV >6.0.

Mouthfeel – This was the ale’s strong point, IMO. The mouthfeel was velvety smooth like passing your tongue over sheer glass. The teeth and cheeks were covered in the sticky sweetness of this Scotch Ale.

Drinkability – As smooth as this was, it was great to sip. Super job on a rather difficult style, especially since they had to keep things light due to the area’s restrictive beer-selling laws.

Ths body is a dark leathery brown big creamy head. The description says it's unfiltered, but it's fairly clear. The mouthfeel is impressively creamy. Good sweet malty. Might have benefitted from a little peatiness but a great dessert beer. Just enough citric hop bite in aroma and flavor.
