This is a pretty good Brown Ale, especially given the circumstances under which it was brewed. This is a good example of making lemonade when life hands you lemons, or in this case making beer when life floods your brewpub. Dark brown with a medium thin beige head. The aroma is mostly sweet malt with a roasted nutty character as well. Medium-bodied with a strong malt and caramel flavor. It retains the nutty flavor but the hops come through progressively. The finish is fairly hoppy. This is a solid session brew and goes well with food.

Had this one for the first time on Firkin Friday. Was pretty good as a cask firkin. It poured a very dark amber and formed a small white bubbly head that left laticed lace as is subsided. An aroma of malt and caramel was presemnt. The flavor was of malt and a nice level of caramel and other sweetness I couldn't place. The finish was sweet, yet astrigent. This beer makes a return after several years. It got it's name for when the plumbing broke down when brewing it. Had to haul water the old fashioned way for this one. Worth the effort I think.
