Draft sample at Alehouse #1 on 8/8/07 under the name of Divine.

Poured hazy brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing.

Moderate tart fruit and alcohol aroma.

Medium to full body with a sticky texture.

Heavy balanced flavor with a heavy bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration.

My expectations where met with a standout beer.

On draught at Ale House #1: This beer is a lovely dark mahogany color with a thin beige head that does not last very long. Spotty, quick lacing. Rich malt, caramel and fruity aroma. Full body with lots of toasted malt and caramel flavor, along with touches of hops and nuts. The finish is round and smooth with sweet malt and dark fruit at first, followed by moderately bitter hops. Enjoyable overall, as these annual homebrew competition winners tend to be.

Chestnut in color, with some ruby shades. Thick tan head disappeared after a minute or two. Pretty nice looking.

Fruity aroma, figs, malty, floral and earthy. As it warms, more big fruit notes. Alcohol present in the nose.

Sweet up front, with darker fruit, figs and caramel. This got so much better as it warmed.

Good body, with just enough carbonation. I enjoyed this one.

Really looking forward to trying this beer as I love trying homebrew contest winners and the like.

Thick mahagony redding at the edges. Poured with an off white head that fades very quickly.

Hard candy toffee aromas, toffee, maple and hints of brown sugar, cane sugar as well with prune and raisin accents.

Somewhat dissapointed in this brew. A cloying sweetness really degrades this beers overall perception. Some peat type smoked malt, toffee and thin caramel, nutty variances and brown sugar on the finish. Overall just lacking structure and complexity. Some alcohol burn in the chest as well as a chewy, gritty yet syrupy mouthfeel.
