Form the growler via the brewery in a snifter, and cheers to our
waiter that was kind enough to fill the growler! This mighty fine
BSDA pours a muddled and murky dark brown with a modest head
of off white foam that settles to a thin ring with subtle lacing. Nose
of rich bourbon, dark fruit notes of fig and dates, vanilla, oak, and
dark candy sugars. Flavors expand on the nose with candied dates
and plum notes over a rich layer of bourbon with mild oak and
vanilla with some mild Belgian spice notes of coriander that
appear with warmth. Nice mouth feel; medium body, smooth,
warming, light carbonation, and a boozy moderately dry finish.
Overall a SOLID brew from one of the classic breweries in
the craft beer scene. This one made the trip downtown
worth the hassle.
Cheers
