Pours a very hazy cloudy gold with a good white head.
Smells of dull spices. There are stabs of regular witbier goodness--cloves and lemon--but they're just dull, like someone forgot to turn them all the way up.
Tastes very much the same. Solid spice and fruit complexities but there's also a slight soapiness that drowns out much of their goodness.
This is almost a very good beer, but some rough edges need to be worked out of it.

AP: Cloudy pale yellow. Thin ivory white head. Spotty lace.
AR: Citric tones are fairly bright. Nice orange. Fresh yeast. Some subtle spicing.
TST: Nice orange aspect to this. Lemon peel and lemon grass come to mind as well. Very slight bitterness. Refreshing wheat kick. Slight corriander.
MF: Body is medium and the carbonation is appropriately refreshing.
DK: Nice quencher. A few pints of this would never be out of the question.
Thanks for sharing Big Ol ZAP!!

A hell of a nice whit...bright hazy gold color....great aroma of fresh oranges, ginger, and perhaps grains of paradise?
Taste features a great initial hit of oranges...actually a lot of oranges...
High side of "light" bodied...perhaps even medium
This is a whit big on the citrus...would love to see just a dash more spicing (corriander?) on the taste....as is it still is quite enjoyable and a beer I would definitely look for if in town.

Poured from a fresh growler (!!) into my weizen glass. Appears to be some sort of diluted orange juice with a beery head, just as I would expect from a wit. It is quite pale, yet no light shines through. Even after the growler had been sitting in the ambient room temperature for about 20 minutes before I opened it, the beer was still too cold to smell or taste too complex; but as it warmed up through contact with my hands on the glass, it opened up quite nicely in both departments.
Smells like coriander/orange peel and clove. The taste is quite similar with the clove being the dominant flavor. The orange taste from the coriander and orange peels is also quite complex and accompanied by a surprisingly crisp hop bite. A base of unmalted wheat, of course, lingers in the background of the palate.
The mouthfeel is kind of harsh when the beer is at serving temp, but as it warms down to consuming temp, it is very nice, though only a slight bit thin bodied for the style. Very highly quaffable though. I look forward to being able to drink more of the Old Capitol's beers from the comfort of my home. Worth a try if you're in town, but make sure you get there early, because it turns into an earsplittingly loud college drunkfest at night.
edit: by the end of the growler it had really warmed up and the smells and tastes opened up to full throttle. This is probably the best witbier I've had after it warms up.
