This was a good all-around beer. Served in a pint glass to a ruby hue with a nice fluffy white head. Carbonation was decent.
The smell is of apple, cinnamon, and some other assorted spices in the background. Not exactly roasty or nutty as the placemat describes. For what it is, it is good, however. The taste is similar. Nice apple and spice combo. A bit sweet with a nice bite in the end.
The body isnt huge, but it coats the mouth nicely. This is as high in ABV as is legally allowed for commercial brewers to produce in Iowa. Still quite drinkable.
