This was a good and interesting new beer down at the brewpub. I didn't quite know what to put as the style, since it is brewed with Ghirardelli chocolate extract. It is a blonde ale only in appearance and name, but rather it is a beast all of its own.
The beer pours to a nice butterscotch flavor with a light brown tint. The head was frothy and white but soon died down completely, leaving no lacing in its wake.
The smell was huge on vanilla and butterscotch with a little chocolate. The taste was also spot-on with the nose. This is a dessert beer for sure, and it will be featured during the upcoming brewmaster's chocolate dinner.
Good stuff. Great job on this one, guys! Just as a note, the brewmaster suggested mixing this with the stout for a half-and-half. I didn't try it, but I probably will on my next trip.
