Pours a very dark ruby with a decent white head. Dark, for the style. Pours more like a negro/a Mexican adjunct than a vienna.

Smells like prickly pils grains, along with light esters of flowers and fruit. A very summery smell, crisp, and sweet.

Tates very sweet and crisp. Sweet and sour fruit candy to start--lemon and cherry Starbursts--making way into a sunny, floral middle, and ending on a solid node of light, dry hops. Surprising amount of complexity.

A very fine example of the style.

This is a decent Cinco de Mayo release from the Old Capitol brewpub. Pours to a dark nutty amber color with a decent sized white head. Lacing is alright.

Smells a bit sweet and malty. Some fruity esters. A slight bit nutty. The taste follows on from that. Could use some more hops. Tastes better than a Negra Modelo or something, but it's not my style.
