The beer made the leap from one-off to seasonal, and the transition came with a recipe change significant enough to warrant a new entry. According to staff and other reviewers, this is an almost completely different beer.
Pours in a gorgeous golden haze with a perfect, sticky white head. It looks like a fine saison or Belgian Pale.
Smells pungent. Harsh spice—white pepper wheat malt, mustard seeds, and a boat load of sweet honey.
Tastes great, but strange. Like mustard greens up front, candy sour, moving into a sweet middle punctuated with distinct nodes of honey, white pepper wheat malt, and ending on a slightly-bitter note of coriander.
Wow, this was quite the surprise!
