I had this beer at the 99. It's an amber ale, served in a frosted glass with little or no head. The hop aroma indicates that the brew has some potential, but its lack of intensity doesn't raise expectations for this brew that nicely balances some hop character on a malty backbone. Of course, balance isn't as tricky when the brew's a bit light and watery. This brew is drinkable, but not worthy of pursuit.

My offering did not come ice cold. As such I was able to detect a decent, malty aroma. Taste was slightly sweet, with a decent slightly bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel was ok, with a light body. Appearance was ok also, nice amber color, but virtually no head. Easy to drink. Had it at the 99 with nachos and quesadillas which it complemented quite nicely. All in all, a pleasant surprise.

Had this at the 99. Amber in color with virtually no head. Served ice cold. As a result, could not really get a reading on the nose. The taste was pretty decent. Very malty, but virtually no hops, also some fruity tones. This beer has a really, really smooth mouthfeel that is medium bodied. Virtually no crispness. Aside from Sam Adams lager, this might be the best beer available at the 99. I'm not sure I would classify this as a pale ale, it seems to be more of an amber.

Mill City brews this poison for the "99" Restaurant. It took the barkeep 4 trys to get me a glass. The beer itself was so cold it had ice forming in it. It was a red color, with ice in it. The first sip made me gag. The second sip made me track down the barkeep and return it. It had a bitter industrial taste, almost tinny. Never drink this. Ever.
