Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a fairly clear darker golden color. There was minimal head and no lacing. It has a good nose. Wheat, honey, coriander, spice and peppery. The taste is very good. Spicy, but actually no real sweetness to it. A slightly dry finish. A very smooth mouth feel. Some breadiness and yeast, honey and citrus. Very nice!

tap at the brewpub

Pours a clear golden with a white sudsy head with good retention.

Smells of fresh wildflowers, honey, citrus, and grassy malt.

Flavor is of honey, apple, banana, citrus, coriander, orange zest, and a yeasty finish.

Full body with fluffy carbonation throughout.

This is a very good Belgian-influenced ale. Very tasty, excellent body, great aroma. Really nothing to complain about, would have this again for sure.

Had a couple of drafts at Nodding Head. Have never tried this, but have been anticipating it for quite awhile now.

A: Poured into a tulip glass. Appeared golden yellow with a nice inch/inch-and-a-half white head.

S: Can really pick up the citrus flavors from the orange. The honey & coriander was also a nice treat.

T: Excellent sweet tasting beer in the Belgian vein. I really have to hand it to the recipe designer! Great notes of honey & orange citrus.

M: Even bodied with great carbonation. The sweetness was evened out so it didn't taste like rock candy. Great!

D: I had to refrain myself from chugging this one down, but I could easily have had numerous glasses. The high ABV seemed completely non-existent, but I was cautious of the fact that it clocked in a 9%.

Appearance: Clear. Deep yellow gold.
Smell: Somewhat limited nose. Straightforward. Candyish sweet malt. Lots of fruit.
Taste: Sweet at first, fruit dominates, becomes tartish. Alcohol well-cloaked. Very low key phenolics and very subtle spice.
Mouthfeel: Medium bordering on medium-full. Gently effervescent.
Drinkability: Builds on the palate a bit, but it's a nice ride.

This beer came a clear dark red and honey color with only a thin film of head. Smelled of fragrant oranges and a musky organic sweetness with a slight dry yeast. The flavor was dominated by a powerful sweet dark fruits and citrus character that faded into an over ripe, musky fruit and rotten orange flavor. The mouth feel was medium bodied with a light carbonation that. This beer seemed to hang around in my mouth long after I'd swallow. The sugars here were a little much to deal with and the fruit flavors, although not unpleasant, just seemed forced.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar with a cloudy dark amber body with a small head that quickly drops to a ringlet but leaves good lacing behind

Smell: Smells mead-like with stong honey odors as well as some orange and coriander

Taste: Tastes a bit like a sweet mead; starts out with honeyed sweet flavors that last through to the finish and is joined by a yeasty complexity and the orange and coriander spices; the finish is also mead-like

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a healthy level of carbonation

Drinkability: This is an outstanding beer that won 1st place at the GABF in Category 10 - Specialty Honey Lager or Ale; BA doesn't have a category for it, so I stuck it in the Herbed/Spiced Beer category; at Nodding Hill, they advertise it as a Belgian style ale and when I asked the barmaid what that meant, she said it was like a tripel; whatever it is, seek it out if you can
