cask at the brewpub
Pours a clear gold with white sudsy head, retains pretty well.
Aroma is of honey, citrus, and fresh floral hops.
Wildflower, citrus, citra hops, hint of pine, and a dry woody biscuit malt compose the flavor.
Medium body with little detectable carbonation as expected from a cask pour.
Not sure why this one is classed as an American Pale, pretty sure they were calling a pale wheat at the pub, and it fits that pretty well. It's really not that bad, seems to be getting a bum rap here. I'd say it's worth a go and quite drinkable, but probably not a good candidate for the cask to be honest.

Appearance: pale yellow in color with a one finger head that breaks down quickly. Some spotty surface foam remains.
Smell: basically no aroma with this beer.
Taste: mild malt levels, hints of lemon, some grassy tones, and little bitterness makes up an average beer at best. Named for the macro drinkers at the old Vet stadium.
Mouthfeel: light in body. Crisp to start, less crisp at the finish. Clean aftertaste.
Drinkability: this beer is probably the best bet for a macro drinker visiting here, but compared to the other offerings, this one not for me.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear light orange with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet light fruits and wheat malt. Flavor of wheat malt and bitter floral hops in the finish. Still, it gets too sweet at the end (like other Nodding Head beers it seems...)

Nodding Head 700 level
On Draught at Grace tavern
Nice dense fluffy winter white head atop a light pale gold beer. Relatively still and clear but not ideal. The aroma is bad. Sour, astringent aroma dominates everything. The flavor has a light malt sweetness almost candy sweet. Reminds me of a flat soft drink. The hops come in to quench the sweetness but leave no stamp of their own. A thin, lightly carbonated beer created to drink the whole afternoon at an Eagles' game. I guess this one is just too sessionable.

Sampled on-tap at Nodding Head, this APA pours a super pale, yellow/gold. The body is totally translucent with a bright white, soapy head that holds decently but leaves very little in the way of lacing.
The nose is mostly uneventful. Very mild with some honey sweetness and a bit of bland spice and hops. Mostly watery aroma with no backbone or indication of substantial grain/malt. Definitively lacking.
Flavor-wise there is some sweet malty honey with a decent fruity note in the middle. Really no fruit in particular, rather ambiguous. Some decent hops are the highpoint of the flavor; semidry and bitter. A hint of tangy citrus mills about as well. Kind of a catch-all beer for new patrons who may be intimidated by more flavorful/interesting brews. No terrible by any means but generally lacking in most categories.
The texture follows the same trend; thin and somewhat watery with moderate carbonation and a lighter body. A hint of dry hops linger dimly in the finish. Fairly refreshing. A beer to reach for while eating nachos at a baseball game I suppose, but even then it wouldn't be my first choice.

Tasted on-tap 10/09/06 at Nodding Head Brewpub in Philadelphia, PA.
Pretty much a hazy straw yellow in color with a low white head. A typical American Blonde Ale with decently balanced fruit, malt and hop aromas and flavors. Maybe a touch of adjunct character although I'm sure it doesn't use any. Light-medium bodied and fairly clean.
Certainly not an APA as currently categorized... worth one try before moving on.
Per NH website: Blonde Ale.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub.
Served as a very light golden colored beer with modest white head.
Smell is very light with a sl;ight fruitiness noted.
Taste is also very light , but very refreshing. Some light summer fruits can be found.
Finished also very light and very thirst quenching.
Very easy to drink.
An average beer, but something that would probably appeal to the Coors Light crowd.

This is the worse smelling beer...scatch that...the worst smelling food or drink I've ever encountered. Swamp gas. A truck stop bathroom on a bad night. This beer has been available consistently for years, so the brewer is comfortable putting out such garbage. It's the beer they give you if you tell them you like Miller Lite, but I'd rather have a macro lager. I had to drink it with my hand over the top of the pint glass to block the smell from fouling my nose. The taste is unfocused and unpleasant--sour, stale, hoppy, sweet, whatever. The flavors that emerge seem accidental, as if the brewing process wasn't controlled. Not that the details matter at this point, but the mouthfeel is watery.

Heavy condensed top floats over the totally clear light gold brew.
Whoa...what is this? Taste is watery followed by a rankish apple sweetness, like white wine that's been around for a little too long. Are they going for this? It could also be interpreted as having a malt liquor taste. Not a big fan of this beer honoring the 700 deck of the old Vet. Watery mouthfeel, served not that cold. Low drinkability for me. Maybe it was a negative cask conditioning..

Yellow water its so paled but there's plenty of thin foamy head, lace, stain. Step back and it almost looks like a Bud light, no lie (well, except for all the nice lace).
Smells of sweet pale malt and its pear-ish scent, opening to cushy white bread notes. Tastes like dry malt with, again, that pear-ish tone but builds to a flavor of saltine cracker meal. Soft neatly pasty English hops help to cotton-mouth with dry bitterness. Well bodied for such a low abv beer.
With a name like the 700 level this is a nod to the masses. Its all good, though, because there's nothing wrong with paying the bills. I'll pass for the unbelievably drinkable 3C instead.
