I had this on tap at the brew pub. Very good with an almost black pour and a creamy tan had. The aroma is pine and citrus with some caramel in the background. The flavor starts with a nice sweetness and then a big hop presence gets you. Very nice and refreshing.

Served on Friday the Firkinteenth at the Grey Lodge Pub, in a large plastic cup. I was "tricked" on this brew, as a friend was buying and handing me (his choice) what I thought was a nice imperial stout...what a nice suprise!

A- Thick black darkness with a one finger creamy head. Very thin lacing remainted after a few minutes, and lingered for a while during consumption.

S- Trick! Looks like a stout, smells like a nice IPA :-) Hoppy floral notes dominate, with a hint of sweet-malt. Nice strong aroma, you don't have to be super close to catch the nice hoppy goodness.

T- a solid IPA, very hoppy on the front, just a bit softer on the finish.

M- Not as bubbly as I would have expected- perhaps becuase this was the cask version?

O- I liked this brew- the first I have rated from Nodding Head, and now I have to go check them out. A must try for IPA fans, this is a nice twist to the standard IPA.

Pours a near black with light able to creep through, little to no head, spots of off white on the top, some laacing towards the top of the glass. Scent is dominated by earthy and spicy hops, a decent roased and toasted grain background. Taste brings a earthy and spicy hoppiness and medium roasted and toasted grains and nuts, some dark crusty breadyness, without overly bitter notes. Body is medium, smooth and only lightly drying. A very nice Black IPA which is somewhat unique in its elnglish style constructions.
