On Tap At Nodding Head for their 2012 "phunkaboration" event. Into a Wine Glass.
Wishniak goes into the glass easy like with a black look from outside the glass. Up to light, this still looks very dark and black. No head, cap, foam on the top to speak of. Not even swirls can any life towards this. Even with the faults this still looks delicious. Smell is ripe with cherry flavor, maybe some blackberry ( that could be the last beer I had though). There is some roasty malt character that is oh so slight. slight oak and a hit of Balsamic Vinegar. They pulled this right in time, it is starting to shed away to a not good place. Pretty pungent beer and a nice smeller. Taste is out the wazoo with tartness/sourness. Cherry/blackberry that is not artificial, but pleasant. Pretty pucker filled. Some of that phunk barrel oak comes through and some balsamic vinegar in the hind end. The brewers said this resembles a 'Black Kriek' and I would have to agree. I am sure there is another barrel or two of this, so hopefully I can see how it develops, although I don't think time is going to improve, only damage this great beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
