Golden color, thin white head. Sweet malty aroma with alcohol. The taste is caramel sweet with alcohol. Light bitter in aftertaste. Bad as any Ukrainian strong lager.

Pours a translucent copper-orange with a finger and a half of white foam on top. Head retention is okay with a ring of foam lingering a long while. Aroma is strong and powerful nail polish, straw, barley, pilsner and bready malts. It pops hard at the start like a camera flash, and then fades. Flavor profile is quite novel. It comes on strong and thick from the start with a light burning alcohol quality right up front, giving the impression this is drank to alter the mind and not for enjoyment. Nail polish, barley, pilsner malts, and sweet corn with herbal, citrus hops round it out. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a prickly effervescence that creates the illusion of a much thicker beer. Overall, big and boozy with harsh malt and hop qualities.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 500mL bottle.

A: The beer is clear dark golden yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that settled down, leaving behind a long patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of apples are present in the nose along with hints of sweet malts.
T: The taste is quite malty and has a touch of associated sweetness with hints of apple esters and a bit of fusel alcohol.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be not overly difficult to drink compared to other beers in the style as it didn't have any "off" flavors and the alcohol wasn't overly noticeable in the taste.

If I’ve ever had a Ukrainian beer before, I can’t remember it. I guess it’s time for me to go check my Untappd archives. I’ve never been impressed by Euro Lagers. As a matter of fact, I recall disliking most of them. This 7% monster pours a beautiful, bright golden color with about 2 fingers of head. The aroma is very sweet and citrus-like. Much more pleasant than I would have anticipated. The head dissipates quickly with very little lacing left behind.

On the front, the sweetness comes through the second it touches your tongue. There is a faint booziness to it in the middle and back, but at 7% it should definitely be stronger. There is definitely a very strong malt backbone with very little on the hops, which barely make an appearance at the very back. Notes of wet-grain, wheat and honey all throughout. I am still surprised at how sweet this beer is with very little bitterness.

There is very little to no aftertaste. And what little there is feels sweet and pleasant. I typically dislike these beers because I can’t shake the aftertaste bitterness for a while. This beer definitely does not have that issue. This is something I could drink a few of… quickly, which makes it a pretty dangerous beer!

An issue I’ve always had with European beers is that they always seem to be very old when I grab them off the shelf. Because of this, they always taste stale and flat and unpleasant. But my bottle tastes fresh, so I can only assume this is not a problem here.

According to Beer Advocate this is discontinued but it is a new product in the area… so who knows. I don’t think I would buy this again but it was nice to try it. Probably one of the better examples of a European Lager I’ve had.

Gold in color with excellent clarity. There's a quarter inch of dishwater white head resting on top. The head reduced to a fingernail shortly thereafter. Aroma is of light malt and corn. I taste light malt and a touch of skunky butterscotch aftertaste despite the brown bottle. The mouth is a bit warm with alcohol, but is fairly quaffable considering the strength.

Looks good. Smells, eh. Tastes like burning. Wow, this was a hot mess of boozy corn flavor. I guess Euro Strong Lager is basically an American Malt Liquor.

Pours amber with small head that dissipated quickly, leaving very small lacing behind. Slightly sweet flavor, leaving behind a trace of bitterness in the back of the mouth. Easy to forget it has a healthy kick, however. Be careful with this one - it comes across as a lightweight, but kicks like a mule.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Thin streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of sugar, malt, grain, grass, and slight corn flake aromas. Taste is much the same with frosted corn flake, caramel, and slight grass flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer with really sweet sugary characteristics in both the smell and taste.

Its "ok". Which in Europe generally means better then "ok" HERE. I have found generally poor beers dont last long in Europe and you have to search to find them. I bought this Ukrainian Lager on an impulse at an ethnic grocery. It was pretty cheap for a big bottle.

A fast Lagery pour with very avergae lacing. Pretty , and clear, golden but to light for me. Smell is uneventful, like a light lager. Taste is a bit of sweet hoppiness. To light for a Lager for me but pleasant. A decent light dryness to the after taste.

Honestly I'd prefer an old style formula Schlitz. But this is not a bad beer and I had a good experience. I gave the mouth feel a little higher rating just cause Lagers make my mouth feel good. Were I at a restaurant I wouldnt hesitate to order this beer with lamb or chicken.

A nice lager.

Grabbed this one in a bottle from Gomer's in Kansas City, MO...

Appearance: Deep golden slightly translucent body; bright white head with what starts as a solid retention and quickly dissipates. Lacing is moderate all along.

Smell: Standard to the beers out of this region of the world. Clear malt backbone with strong aromas of the wheat and bitter hops pushing from behind.

Taste: Malt backbone brings forward a beer that is mostly a grainy brew with fresh cut grass bitterness but with a spicy alcoholic kick that brings it down for my liking.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with a lingering alcohol presence at the end that is overall quite dry.

Overall: Not my favorite but definitely worth a try -- especially at $2.50.
