A graceful brew with cherry malts, a feathery head, and ample bittering. Some folks are inclined to think this beer has more bittering than it does. ItÂ’s actually very fruity and suggests that a professed high IBU value may be offset by a potential for greater attenuation.
A solid ale nonetheless. Named for a southern branch of the Oregon Trail that crossed the Oregon Cascades and its eponymous trailblazers, the Applegate brothers. (To read up on this great historic drama, check out http://www.endoftheoregontrail.org/road2oregon/sa22applegate.html).
