Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smells of roasted, slightly caramelly malt and a distinct roasted coffee aroma, as well as just a hint of hazelnut. Taste is a great balance of roasted, caramel malt and bitter, roasted coffee, as well as lighter chocolate and hints of hazelnut and earthy hops. Finishes bittersweet, with a medium bitterness and some roasted malt and coffee lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
A very nice coffee porter with a distinct quality of roasted malt and coffee, as well as lighter milk chocolate, hazelnut and earthy hop notes, making for a great balance of sweet, roasted and bitter notes, while feeling rather rich for the ABV as well. Overall, a rather enjoyable coffee porter with a rich, roasted character and lighter sweet and bitter notes, with an impressive body and mouthfeel for the ABV.

Leaped out of the bottle as soon as I removed the top and is very dark almost opaque. Poured with a very dark brown head and the beer itself is almost black. Smelled of hazelnuts and praline and not much else. Taste was cloying almost like syrup added to beer. I've tried a few coffee porters in the past and always grab an interesting one to try but this really didn't do it for me. Tipped it away after a couple of mouthfulls.
