Reddish amber color, quite dark. A beautiful beige foam, quite compact.
Fresh smell, balsamic spices, spices, eucalyptus. Fresh and inviting. Mint? Laurel?
The taste is full, intense. Not heavy, but not too drinkable, too.
Maybe as a springtime beer it has a bit too much full taste. Well, the alcohol is well hidden, yes, but still, not a session beer.
Intense and challenging beer, full body.
Not a great drinkability, but a good beer.

This beer is intended to be an interpretation of a medieval beer, brewed with a sort of gruit, containing sixteen different herbs, plus a small amount of hops.
The beer pours a hazy chestnut color. The head is finely packed, and mostly tan in color...not particularly good lace. The beer's aroma is hard to place. There's an herbal (not quite medicinal) aroma, as well as a bit of a fresh hop smell. It gives the impression of a very strong medicinal tea, but I have difficulty picking out distinct smells. There is a bit of a berry (blueberry?) and malt quality as well. Not much alcohol aroma in the nose. The taste is moderately sweet. It has very intense herbal and spice quality...pepper and tea leaves, coriander, ginger, nutmeg...again, it's hard to pick out many specific tastes. Moderately carbonated. Not very bitter in the finish, although the brew does have a notable warming. All in all, this isn't very drinkable, but it is very, very interesting.
