A: The beer is cloudy caramel in color and resembles apple cider. It poured with no head.
S: There are aromas of apple cider, whiskey and peat in the nose. The smoky smell becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste has flavors of apple cider, smoke and whiskey.
M: It feels medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with hardly any carbonation. There is some warming from the alcohol in the finish.
O: It’s rather interesting to have a beer that’s been aged in the barrel of another beer that was aged in whiskey. It’s very interesting and unique with a complex mixture of flavors.

Served on cask at Mugs Alehouse in Brooklyn, NY
A: Pours like a super cloudy natural unfiltered apple cider in color, almost like a caramel, and no head whatsoever. No lacing is observed.
S: Some like smokey notes - from both the peated whiskey barrel as well as the original beer. There is a very light presence of alcohol, more like what you would expect from any beer aged in a spirit barrel and some hints of light fruit (apple and pear).
T: The beer is slightly sweet upfront with the hints of light fruit (more apple but a little pear), then there is some apple cider + caramel sweetness in the middle, and the finish is smokey. The smoke in the flavor intensifies as the beer warms.
M: Light bodied with low amounts of carbonation. There is very slight hint of alcohol heat in the finish after the beer warms.
O: Very light and easy to drink which was a little surprising from the appearance and smell. I could easily get myself into some trouble drinking this one as it was really easy to sip and I'm sure there is a decent amount of alcohol in it. The flavors were very different and enjoyable. Funky smoky apple = yummy!
