The colour is cloudy yellow-orange. The white fluffy foam is rather small.
The smell is fruity with notes of citric peels, spices, yeast and that typical sourish wheat beer scent. There is some bitterness present.
The carbonation is surprisingly mild, giving an almost stale mouthfeel.
The beer tasteĀ Wheat beer. There is a gentle sourishness and notes of citric fruits, white bread, herbs and some sweet tropic fruits. It is rather fresh, with a sweet-sour aftertaste with some fruity notes.
In other words, the brewers must have glanced furtively at Hoegaarden Wit quite a lot. I would have preferred if they had managed to do something more in their own style. Yes, I am somewhat disappointed.
