The colour is deep brown-red (40 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is beige and airy, it leaves lots of lacing on the glass.
The strong smell got distinct notes of wheat malt and Bavarian yeast: Soap-like phenols, banana candy and exotic fruits. There are citric notes of lemon, lemon peels and orange juice. Strong crispy bitter notes. Hints of caramel, chocolate and Indian spices. It is rich and inviting.
The taste is surprisingly fresh and bitter, given it is approximately half a year old. Exotic fruits, chocolate and caramel. Banana skids, green fruits, mixed citric notes. It is quite dry. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is somewhat astringent with fruity somewhat tart wheat flavours. More banana skids. No alcohol. Old-fashioned fruit drops and some earthy hops. The lingering finish got notes of bananas and nuts.
The carbonation is medium strong; the many small bubbles fresh. The liquid is semi-smooth and a bit dry.
The smell promised more than the taste gave. A very interesting wheat-based experiment, though.
