Served in a pint glass, this Scotch Ale has a light brown color with a thin tan head. Smells strongly of alcohol. Taste is very sweet up front, with a pronounced caramel flavor. A hint fruity as well. The middle and finish though have a hint of alcohol bite. A very malt oriented beer. Mouthfeel is rich, somewhat high carbonation. Drinkability is OK, however, this beer does not hide its alcohol content well, and does get cloying after awhile. In a small portion this is fine, but I would not want to drink an Imperial pint of this beer. Worth a shot for lovers of this hard to find style though.
