Had this one at March Madness 2017, courtesy of leftpaw always slingin that New Mexico dope. 3.5 years later, adding it here.
Pours black. Brown head 2/5". The aroma hit the cocoa nib and peanut butter combo, reminded me of peanut butter m&m's. I thought the nose was the best part of the beer.
Taste wise, I dunno, its so difficult to make a peanut butter beer I like, usually a love/hate dichotomy, with hate boasting a near 90% membership. I guess there are some middling ones, and perhaps hate is a strong word, but I guess in general, I don't like them save for the exceptional rarity the Bruery makes. This one sacrifices barley heft and roasted malt for the adjuncts and attempts at a smoother experience. While not a sugar bomb, it was sweeter than what I wanted, the peanut butter notes, while present, were not agreeable with me. I dunno, its almost like you need a massive beer to bouy peanut butter for my drinking preferences. Became a chore to finish by the end, was looking forward to a different beer.
