On tap at the source in Polson, MT
Poured into a nonic pint
P clear copper/chestnut with a tiny white cap; light lace left behind
N very soft bready malt & dark sugars; gets a touch bolder as warms, but not much
T light-med bready malt forward with a little toastiness; pine and lots of leafy bitterness in the finish; lingers; 8.5% abv is well hidden; gets more cohesive as it warms
Mf light-med to med bodied; med to med-high carb; coating finish
O decent, although a bit underwhelming; comes off more like a mild American barleywine instead of a winter warmer (which isnt necessarily bad); grew on me as it warmed; more caramelized dark sugars came out to balance out the leafy notes
