Maibock is a tradition from Bavaria brewed to celebrate the arrival of the spring season. Our Maibock is fermented with traditional Bavarian Lager yeast prior to cold conditioning for eight long weeks. Two-Row Barley, Munich, and Carmel malt build the base that facilitates the malty aromatic profile and deep bronze color. German Magnum, Hallertau, and Tettnanger hops make up the balance to form its depth and character.

Orange copper with a inch of off white rocky head. Nice retention.

Aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, caramel, earthy noble hops, and slight spicy ester.

A good maibock. Lots of iced tea flavors in the middle and finish. Very malty. Bready with layers of toffee, and caramel. A bit thin in the middle and could use a bit of acidity. Carbonation is light in the middle but livens up on the finish. The earthy, slight spicy qualities show on the finish and balance the malt well with the hopping. A nice well balanced treat.

I liked this beer as I do all the ones from Charleville. My only real complaint was the weak head and no lace. It had probably the clearest and cleanest body I have ever seen for a Maibock. It has a strong grainy smell. I felt it was light for a bock but at the same time had a full flavor. There is a very good cereal like flavor. It goes down smooth and surprisingly light. There are some good use of hops in this beer as well.

Pours a clear, orange/copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and poor lacing. Smells of yeast, sweet malt, alcohol, and slight grass. Fits the style of a Maibock / Helles Bock. Mouth feel is smooth and slightly thick with a low carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt up front, alcohol throughout, then roasted malt, some yeast cleanliness, very slight hops, and some grass in the finish. Overall, a little too grassy, but otherwise a good blend of flavors, great drinkability, and a smooth brew.

light malts but a sweet alcohol. light hop notes, grassy, maybe pine.

light sweet malts up front. light grassy and earthy hop flavors. slight alcohol flavor.

very wet and light. light carbonation.

not a bad maibock, very sweet though. would like to see less alcohol.

I'm telling ya, I'm pleased with the brews from da boys from St. Gen ! Another solid brew from them, and all at a economical bomber price ($4-6)

This one was no exception - pour was a clear cola brown, tinge of amber, with a thin ivory head that died too quick. This beers worst aspect, a nice head would have made this top notch.

But the aroma and taste? Wow, what a fine Maibock. Tons of spicy malt (black pepper) caramel and finishing with a hop bite. Still, it's on the sweet side, but the rich body hides the 7.2% well. The caramel adds the perfect compliment to the spicy brew.

A - Pours a burnt orange color with a fluffy half inch white head. The head receeds quickly and leaves only a small lacing.

S - Toasted malt, grass, and overall earthy notes. Slight bit of hops mixed in.

T - Toasted malt is the majority of the taste. It has an earthy and bready taste to it that is light and airy. There is some nice hop bitterness in the finish. The finish is overall very clean and dry.

M - Carbonation is medium and the feel is creamy than many Maibocks.

D - Although the alcohol is a little high, this is quite drinkable.
