Only at the Upstream Legacy.
Clear, straw gold in hue with just a suggestion of muted yellow, light animation danced towards the foamy head. The head was one finger in height on the pour, white in color, quick to fade to a soapy cap. There was no subsequent lacing. The appearance is lackluster; it wouldve looked more striking in a Pilsner glass and not a tumbler. Fair potency in the nose, Saaz hops offer a spicy grass, and hay. Light biscuity malts, subtle sweetness at the back, and traces of caramel too. The bouquet is very pleasant. It isnt a straight German or Czech Pilsner but a cross between the two, IMO it leans a little more to the Bohemian side. I really like the softness of the malt; I want to cozy up to it. Inviting. Refreshing palate, mildly zesty with light crispness that is very lovely. Hops offer some hay, some grass, and some spiciness, which is ideal for the style(s). Soft maltiness throughout, it is pliable, in a good way, with subtle biscuits, soft, kind of sweet caramel influences as well. I really enjoyed drinking this one. It is very tasty. Medium in body with moderate, natural carbonation that helps produce a pleasant mouthfeel, just lively enough carbonation to make it a little extra refreshing. Supremely drinkable. My first lager from Upstream was a roaring success! I enjoyed it very much; if youre a Pils fan then give it a try. I bet this beer would go nice with fish. Well worth a try.
