the new labels these guys have on their bottles looks super sharp, and this is a cool beer. a mixed fermentation table sour, meaning sessionable and easy going, not too acidic along with the low alcohol, and the result is excellent. it has a nice mix of bacterial sourness but also cool and surprisingly mature funk, maybe not quite bretty, but rustic at least, and old worldy. i expected the kettle sour dirtiness, and there is none of it at all. not sure why i expected that, but i did. i like the light hop profile too, more forward in the nose, maybe a dry hopping of some kind, and i like the light but not watery body and dry cereal grain profile. notes of white wine and lemon and lime and wood tannins are all there, although im not sure this spent much if any time on wood, its very bright and young tasting too me, despite the developed funky character. a little too acidic for the kind of table beer i like, but i appreciate what they are going for here, and i think they have achieved an approachable yet high quality and interesting sour beer that could satisfy a wide range of palates and work with diverse food pairings, hence, table beer. communal goodness. these guys have upped their game!
