Had on-tap at Upstream's Downtown Location.
Review from notes.
Served in a very tall glass, almost like a Kwak glass. Arrives with a 1.5cm head, eggshell white in color. Fades to leave spotty lacing along the sides of the glass. Head retention is good, remains throughout entirety of drink. Body is a murky burnt brown in color.
Aroma is predominantly of lemongrass, with slight citrus peel and coriander notes. Mostly, though, it's one-dimensionally focused on lemongrass.
Taste is similar to smell, with domination by lemongrass and sweetness from malt. Orange and coriander are also notable, but beneath the lemongrass component. Becomes almost cloyingly sweet as it warms.
Body comes across as crisp, slightly low carbonation, slightly watery. Finish is semi-dry.
This was a fairly average witbier. The lemongrass seemed to overpower the other components of the drink, which resulted in lessened complexity and enjoyment.
