Served in a standard pint glass, the Dark Star porter was dark brown with a tan head and good lacing.
The beer smelled of coco, sweet malts and just a hint of plum.
The taste was decent. It was a touch smoky, a little sweet and a bit fruity. No overpowering element, but everything worked well together.
The mouth was a trifle brittle, but it was still an easy drinking beer.
