River city wheat was served in a standard pint. It was a hazy yellow and filled almost to the brim, so there was no opportunity for any head.
The beer had the expected clove & banana smell. Just the right amounts of each and it did smell very fresh.
The initial taste is slightly sour with banana and malts. There are some nice spice notes, which add balance. No flaws or off tastes.
The beer has a slick mouth with just enough carbonation. It is very easy to drink and should go well with those hot steamy summer nights that Peoria has.
