On tap right at the pub, was anticipating its release since I've never seen any beer rum aged.
Poured opaque brown with a finger thick tan head that quickly disspated.
Smelled caramel, booze, a bit of coffee, and well.. rum! Forgot to ask what kind of rum was used, but certainly wasn't painthinner smelling like McCormick's and the ilk.
Taste was a blend of a big ole brown porter + a darker, not heavily spiced rum. Dominant flavors were carmel, prunes, and vanilla with a little chocoalte bitterness on the back end plus strong molasses from the rum.
Probably should have got a smaller glass considering the ABV, but I enjoyed every drop regardless. Was glad I ran in to try this, thanks to the brewer for his ever-changing lineup and experimentation.
