I love me some wet hop ales. According to the brewery this is hopped with Cascade and Ivanhoe hops from the Northern California region. How’s that for local?

This pours a malty amber in the pint glass with a light foam that quickly dies down. There’s a lightly hopped aroma that’s part dank, part green and part resiny. The flavor has a sharply up-front bitterness and a lightly sweet malt profile for balance. It comes across green and sticky, in a good way, with some piney chew. Not a big hop blast but boy its good.

I’m entering this as its own entry only because the nature of fresh/wet hops can change so much as to make this beer a different one from the Iron Springs regular Epiphany ale.

This is for the 2012 vintage.
