The beer board claims this is dry hopped. Dry hopped? I don’t think so. There’s no hop aroma here at all. None. Not even the casual hop aroma that a non-dry hopped IPA might exhibit. Even the hop flavor is negligible with mechanically induced bittering on a watery body. Though the CO2 is healthy, the customary head and lace accompanying most Hazel Dell beers is lost.

Hazel Dell’s IPA is bright golden with fair clarity, strong bittering, and a long bitter aftertaste. If they called it an English-style bitter I wouldn’t complain, but as an IPA (and a dry hopped one no less) it simply fails.
