The beer pours out into a Duvel glass a nice clear, dark amber color with 1/2" of ivory colored head being fed by the stream of carbonation rising from the nucleation point. The head recedes slowly to a thin layer of foam. Sipping creates a couple of arches and lots of small patches of lacing. By mid-way through the beer the head and foam are mostly gone but there are still some patches of lacing on the glass.
The aroma has some bready character with a touch of floral. It provides the context in which there is pine resin and some earthiness.
The flavors follow pretty much from the nose with some bready and floral character creating a context for the pine resin and some earthiness to show.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and lightly crisp with ongoing carbonation. The finish begins as the malt backbone, which has been a prominent character, begins to fade, allowing the fading bitterness a bit more freedom as everything fades towards that dry finish that invites one or more sips.
Overall this seems a well made beer with an enjoyable choice of hops that are given some room to play and the malt keeps them under control so they are not running the show. Definitely enjoyed this one, and would like to try it on tap this year. I'm also looking forward to see what Sixpoint manages to come up with next year. All that said, with most of a case of the Victory Harvest ale remaining I'll be quite happy drinking that beer until its is gone and its time to move on to holiday beers.

This was easily good not great. Looks standard, deep gold ipa color, white head that is somewhat sticky. Definitely not as hop forward as I would have expected for a beer like this. Grassy and herbal, not a lot of perceived alcohol. This one felt more like a standard Pale Ale than an IPA (or a fresh hopped ipa)

From a can, pours a clear copper. Smell is decently hoppy, but the taste is more malt than a beer like this should be. Feel is fine. Overall this beer is kind of meh in the very crowded IPA field. Certainly not hoppy enough to compete in the wet-hop IPA arena.

Can dated BB 12/25/15 into pint glass. Pours a pale, slightly hazy amber with a cream-colored head. Initial impression is tropical fruits, grapefruit, orange rind, tropical flowers, followed by a slight sweetness. Fairly high carbonation and fairly thick, sticky mouthfeel (slightly too much of each for the style). Dry, refreshing finish. A decent IPA but not one of my favorites.
