A renovated version of our original Brownstone, the first beer ever brewed at Sixpoint. Kettle soured with insane amounts of of cherries in a sturdy dark ale.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Didn't know what to expect here.
Not big sour fan, but have had some very good Sixpoint brews.
Hue is a deep reddish brown with a slight white head that leaves some lacing. The aroma carries the slight sour & slight sweet over a deep tart cherry base.
Due to the upfront tartness the sour shows up late in the aftertaste.
The texture is pretty much what one would want. Smooth with no hint of a 9+ ABV. Keep this away from the kids unless you want them to have a long nap.
Look forward to this in a wintry clime 70F+ outside makes this a one & done.now.

On tap at the Lark in E. Northport, NY, pours very dark brown that it looks black with a small tan head that faded slowly and left minimal spotty lacing. Notes on the draft board above the bar says this is Brownstone Renovation aged with cherries and red wine.
The notes on the draft board seem correct as this tastes and smells like a brown ale aged with cherries with red wine or in red wine barrels. It comes off like a sour with strong tart fruity cherry notes mixed with toasted grains and rotting fruit. The fruity sweetness is tamed by yeast or what seems like brett, a lot of earthy and woody notes, brown sugar, pepper, cumin and other mild spices. Could be some floral hops in there as it seems like dried flowers or potpourri.
Not what I expected, but very complex and interesting. This got better as it warned, hid the ABV well and was a very nice change of pace.
