I had at Muggs in Williamsburg, Brooklyn off a pump cask.
A- It has an amberish color, it's opaque, unfiltered. Some head and lacing.
S- It has a slight apple scent.
T- The taste is wheaty. It has a hint of that apple or a crisp pear. Nice fruity, spring/summer beer. Certainly worht a try.

Thanks to my boy JW77 for this one.
A: Pours a cloudy amber hue with a thin white head. No retention or lace.
S: Aromas of sweet fruits with a hint of dark fruit. Light spice, caramel, and a bit of booze.
T: Malty up front. Caramel and brown sugar with hints of apple, pear, and a touch of raisin. Hints of spice and light hops.
M: On the fuller side of medium, smooth.
D: Overall an above average quad.

Thanks to Shane(sixpoint) for the trade.
Appears a deep, dark, hazy amber with a small white cap that slowly fades into a mild head. Tons of scattered lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of candi sugar, raisin bread, caramel, mild cocoa...to me it seems Saint-Bernardus like.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with ripe fruit, raisins, and brown sugar pulling the flavors together.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, lip smacking, and sweet.

22oz bomber from Bierkraft courtesy of mikeyv35 poured into a snifter.
Pours fairly light for a quad, a hazy caramel orange with a small, short-lived cream-colored head that recedes to a collar and leaves spotty lacing.
The aroma is boozy and sweet with lots of spices. Tons of yeasty sweetness in the nose which also lends a bit of spiciness as well. There are alcohol-soaked fruits as well.
The taste also has lots of initial sweetness from yeast and candi sugar with a big dose of fruit in the middle. The finish is an interesting combination of coriander and spicy yeast combined with a subtle alcohol burn that builds up after each sip. Interesting and complex taste.
The mouthfeel is thick and almost syrupy with soft carbonation and just coats the palate with fruity sweetness.
I certainly can't compare this to most quads I've had but I definitely liked it though the massive sweetness and high ABV lend itself to be more of a sipper.

On tap at The Ginger Man.Good mouthfeel of foamy sugar and yeast, and nice lacing. Yeasty aroma and yeasty sweet. Not a bad quad, but not the best I have had of the style.Mild spices: cloves, sugar, caramel. Appropriate carbonation. The sugar of the fruit. Not overally complex.

(From notes)
A - Really bright orangey copper color, and looks quite different most most other Quads....this is much lighter in color, but still interesting looking.
S - Spices and even catch some bubblegum; light fruit; yeasty
T - Tart at first with a hint of sour fruit; great maltiness; darker fruit flavors; and spices finish it out. Lots of layers
M - A little syrupy, and much heavier than the appearance suggests. Fairly light carbonation
D - Hugely drinkable even though it's more like a sipper for me. Couldn't even tell the abv was 11.3%.
Overall, a really interesting take on the style and thought this was a unique brew. Highly recommended.

Been waiting to try this one for quite some time.
Into my new Westvleteren glass it goes. Clouded brown hued orange. Thin creme head. Nose is dough, floral, and mildly spiced. Smooth, smooth, smooth, smooth flavor. This is 11.3%? Really? Dough tones are there. Mild mature fruits. Spices as well. Very, very slight alcohol burn in the back, but it's barely there. And I would have expected a lot more. Feel is very smooth on liquid. Nearly silky smooth. Carbonation is low and smooth as well. This is a very easy drinking quad. I think some time might make this a bit more interesting, but it sure is nice now. Highly suggested.

Received this brew from brewdogmrb as an extra in a recent trade. Whata guy! This will be my first brew from Sixpoint and look forward to the opportunity. Drank from my Ithaca Excelsior tulip.
Poured from a Bierkraft counter pressured filled bottle.
Appearance- Pours a dark crimson brown with a nice one fingered bright white head that recedes fairly quickly leaving no cap and thin collar with no lacing.
Smell- Dark and rich. Starts with some raw cocoa powder and ground nutty peanuts. A bit of caramel or dark brown sugar with just a hint of smoke. Loads of dark fruits as it warms and especially prunes. My grandma would love the smell of this beer. Also a light flowery aspect to the nose. Lilac and rose are detectable.
Taste- Weird but tasty. Starts with a ton of dark fruits consisting of raisins, prunes, dates and figs. A slight bit of smoke and cardboard and some super raw and gritty cocoa nibs. Maybe a tiny bit of brown sugar but no sweetness what-so-ever. Slightly earthy and/or dirty with a green apple like kick that is almost quenching. There is this every so light funkiness that is weird but I find it sort of enjoyable. The best way I can describe it is sweat... Gross I know.
Mouthfeel- Medium feel with a light cream and sharp aggressive carbonation.
Drinkability- No f'n way this thing is over 11%. Even after it warms it doesn't feel like it's a hair over 6-7%. Seriously. The alcohol is hidden better than any beer I've ever tried before. What I also love is that this thing isn't anywhere near sweet like some Quads (especially American versions) can be. Granted its different, but a damned good different. Mucho gracias Mike!

Growler purchased from Bierkraft in Brooklyn.
Appearance: Tangerine with honey corners. Nice fluffy 3 finger buttery white head. Lots of retention and lacing.
Smell: Tart green apples and grapes coupled with a nice belgian style yeast. Touch of molasses and lemon.
Taste: Bready in the beginning but gives way quickly to the tartness of green apples, grapes and lemons. Soon you get a plum/fig/honey combination and a tart finish that lasts a long time.
Mouthfeel: Oily and slick with a good amount of carbonation. Medium bodied and a touch light for the style.
Drinkability: The light body, generous carbonation, and strong tart quality which masks the alcohol makes this an extremely drinkable 11.3% brew.

On-tap at the Gingerman Bar in NYC...
For starters, anyone not familiar with Sixpoint Craft Ales should brush up on their drinking... An excellent, top-of-the-line craft brewery from New York, all of their products are top-notch stuff...
Their quadrupel pours a toasted amber hue, minimal head, and minor lacing...
Smell: Light in both smell and taste for a Quad... Alcohol hard to detect... Hints of pears, fruits, well-balanced with a sweet finish...
Taste: ripe pears, cotton candy, malts, and honey...
Great stuff...

Smell: Tart fruit, with a green apple character and a Belgian yeast profile
Taste: Tart fruit up front, with green apple and caramel to keep the flavors in check; a bit of hot toddy spice, too, such as clove and cinnamon; after the swallow, the yeast profile increases the beer's tartness, but the underlying caramel aspect keeps the flavors well balanced
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low to moderate carbonation; a bit syrupy
Drinkability: With the mouthfeel is a bit thick, this is a very interesting quad that avoids the cloying sweetness and high alcohol of some of Belgium's finest

12 oz. bottle poured into my new Selin's Grove Goblet.
Pours a murky and dark molasses with a pillowy small bubbled one finger head that takes forever to descend. This beer has crazy head retention. Smell is a crazy bouquet of floral citrus, dates, raisins, grapes, and brown sugar. So clean and crisp on the nosel Big caramel apple straight from the NYS Fair in Syracuse taste with a smokey graham cracker background. Wine grape flavors throughout, almost like a Finger Lakes Riesling sweetness. Caramel sugar aftertaste with some hefty yeast characteristics. Fluffy and creamy mouthfeel with a smooth carbonation. This is my first Belgian beer from Sixpoint, and I hope not my last. This beer proves the guys at Sixpoint know what they're doing. A big quad with amazing complexities from some boys down in Brooklyn, I love it.

Courtesy of CRJMellor, my '06 Secret Santa. A 12 oz. hand-bottled brew.
Pours deep reddish amber with a a small 1 finger head, retains a thin amount around the edges. The smell is hard to discern (due to some recent sinus issues) but the first whiff was quite pleasant, rich with maybe bread and caramel? Hell, I knew it was gonna be good. Tastes amazing, 'big', malty, sweet (caramel? date?), slight yeast - very well balanced. There may be just the faintest tart fruitiness to the finish, but to me it is quite pleasant and adds to the complexity. Rich mouthfeel. Alcohol is well masked.
Damn this is good! definitely reccomended, and worth seeking out.

This was served in a large mouth wine glass 10oz. Got it at barcade in brooklyn. Apparently this was aged for one year in the keg at barcade.
A - I describe my beer like i describe my women... Beautiful. Dark brown and almost ruby. Its somewhere in the middle as far as opaqueness. Slightly cloudy.
S - Dates, Plums, Fruit. Small head that dissipated quickly. Good carbonation, not overpowering.
T - I can almost describe this as similar to a rodenbach mixed with a grand crue type of thing. Unique and special for sure.
M - Smooth. Warming on the way down. Starts smooth and has a bit of a sour taste goin on.
D - Very drinkable. Even at 11.3, its drinkable. Dangerous.
Another great Sixpoint Brew. If only they sold bottles of this and the Grand Crue, i would be a happy man.

Poured out a slightly hazy golden amber color. Big thick white head. Nose has alcohol, some spice, hops, and some barnyard notes. The taste is bigand bold, bready, sweet, caramel, alcohol, raisins, and a tiny bit of sour cherry. Has amouthfeel tha's a tad foamy, and an oily finish that lasts a long time.

Red-brown color resembling slightly browned cranberries. Forms a very small head.
Smell is of fruits like apples plums, cherries with some floral hint as well.
Taste is a sweet-sour multi-layered assault on the tongue. It starts with a sweet fruitiness and then a dry crisp finish. The fruits are the same as noticed in the scent.
Mouthfeel is slightly resinous and this is extremely drinkable especially considering the high abv. An excellent American version of a classic Belgian style beer.
