roy farms edition, which i do not see listed separately, so i am reviewing it under this listing. i have had the pleasure of touring this farm, and so i was excited to see it on a beer menu, they are doing some really cool stuff up there! this is a solid ipa, maybe not quite as distinct and over the top from a varietals and pungency standpoint, but a beer with great balance and drinkability for its size, and a ton of fresh hop character. i think they say this is made with azacca, which i dont know super well by itself, but the hops here are delicious. its got a little chill haze on it, but this isnt one of those huge milky looking ones. its pale in color without a lot of shine, but excellent carbonation and head retention. smells like grapefruit juice and lemon candy, with a light melon element in there as well, and the taste is similar. the malt seems simple, a pale two row type and little else, its got some body but is plenty dry and subtle in flavor. the hops have some oily character to them, giving the beer a unique richness. melon again, fresh citrus, and a hint of honey sweetness before the bitterness sets in. its quite robustly bitter to finish despite the dry hopped nature of this, and we end up with a rather complete hop spectrum overall. i really thought this was good, this is what sixpoint does best, and the idea of collaborating directly with hop farmers is pretty awesome! do they package these or just draft?

Sixpoint Brewery "Farm To Pint"
$10.99/32 oz. growler @ Roger Wilco, Pannsauken, NJ on 8 December 2017

Notes via stream of consciousness: It pours a mostly clear deep golden body, maybe even light amber in color, beneath a foamy white head. The aroma offers tropical fruits with some light grassiness. I initially thought of Amarillo hops because I smelled orange but now I've completely changed my mind on that. Maybe Mandarina Bavaria? Yes, I think that sound right as far as the orange goes. The flavor follows and it's got a solid maltiness to it, it's balanced, not a hop bomb. There are some berry-like notes going on as well, which would make me think perhaps Mosaic but it doesn't really seem like Mosaic. Perhaps Azzaca? There's also a solid bitterness, and you can tell that there's some strength there as well without the alcohol actually sticking out. It finishes dry with more of the grassy hops and some pine than the citrusy/tropical hops lingering. It's medium leaning towards medium-full in body and moderately carbonated (although that could be at least partially due to loss during the filling of the growler). Overall it's a nice, solid, well balanced beer that shows off the hops without trying too hard.

Really enjoyed this one. Im am still rather new to sixpoint but I have a had a couple of their beers (this and their IIPA) and I have been impressed so far.

Look: Rather clear but hazy look for an IPA

Smell: No strong scent here but slightly sweet and piney if I had to describe it

Taste: Such a great sharp pine taste with earthy aftertaste that is not bothersome at all. Another review described a "spicy" taste which I giggled at but can actually see where they are coming from after enjoying.

I had this on tap in Manchester CT and ill be ordering another, would even buy it once in awhile from a store. Well done, Sixpoint.

On tap at 2 Bros. Pours a hazy burnt orange color with over an inch of frothy head. Good amount of lacing. Herbal hop aroma with some sweet pine and citrus peel. The taste is herbal and spicy hops. Kinda has a peanut butter taste in the background, maybe from the malts? Herbal, floral hop finish with some bitterness. Medium bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Not much alcohol heat. A solid IPA I'd buy once in a while.
