A: The beer is cloudy pale dark yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that quickly died down, leaving lots of specks of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of oranges, tangerines, and vanilla are present in the nose along with a bit of sourness.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional bits of lactose and associated sweetness from the milk sugars.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. No crispness is perceptible.
O: This is an unusual hybrid of a milkshake IPA and a sour ale, but everything seems to blend together well.
Serving type: can

L - 1.5 finger offwhite head atop a translucent deep-orange body.
S - sweet orange, tangerine, vanilla.
T - Follows the nose. Slightly sour blood orange, but more sweet than sour. Vanilla, biscuit. No bitterness. Moderate-high sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - A bit overboard on the sugars, but the hop flavors are nice. Don’t think I could drink more than 1 of these though.

Pours a hazy, opaque orange with a thick, fluffy white head with varying bubble sizes. No lacing, perhaps a little dull to my liking.
Citrus all the way, which is not surprising given the amount of blood orange they used in it. It’s the fruity part of the citrus, not rind, and you can get the vanilla here as well.
Citrus hops, tart acidity, vanilla. The citrus is ripe flesh of the blood orange, but I also get slight reminders of tangerine and kiwi, the latter of which I think is related to the acidity. The vanilla and milk bring a creaminess that rounds the beer together. This definitely reminds me of the creamsicles I had as a kid, but in a much less artificial flavored way, which means they likely accomplished exactly what they were going for.
Very smooth from the lactose, but it retains a drinkability that reminds me of the juice you get when you bite into a really fresh orange or tangerine. It’s medium-to-full for the style, and vacillates between easy drinking when colder and smooth and creamy as it warms up. Carbonation prevents that creaminess from coming of as too sweet.
Sixpoint continues to improve with their sour IPAs. The fact that they blend two beers to get to the final brew seems to work very well, and this one retains all the qualities you want from both an IPA and a kettle sour – hops and drinkability with refreshing tartness. I think they hit the nail on the head with the flavor and the mouthfeel to try and recreate the creamsicle experience.
