12oz unlabeled bottle. GNT on cap. Pours into my glass a deep vibrant amber red with a big, thick creamy head that's khaki in color. Lots of sticky lacing on the sides of the glass. Aromas aren't too pronounced by there's a nice caramel presence with a light sweetness as well. Floral, grassy hop aromas along with touch of citrus here and there.
First sip brings a solid caramel malt upfront with a slight bready note as well. Earthy, grassy, floral hops move in before long and bring in a nice bitterness as well. Somewhat fruity as well throughout. This one finishes dry with a bit of lingering hop flavor. Tasty brew.
Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with an easy going carbonation that ushers everything down with easy. Slightly chewy, this is one easy drinking strong ale. Overall, I could see myself sitting down to a few pints of this no problem at all. A solid brew from Sixpoint...wish I could get more of their offerings!

Poured a hazy amber, lots of yeast floating in the pour. A bit flowery in the nose, maybe lavender smell. Not as complex as some of the other Sixpoints we've sampled, but still drinkable. A bit of a cross between a red with the finish of an ESB.

Got a couple 12oz bottles trough a trade with Shane(sixpoint.) I wish I would've just gotten a growler from someone when it was on at Bierkraft a week or two earlier though.
Pours a dark hazy amber with an impressive head and plenty of bubbles rising to the top.
Not much of a nose, slight sweet floral scent.
Tastes earthy with a nice hop bitterness.
Surprisingly light and dry.
Smooth and easy to drink but I wish there was more going on.

Pours a hazed amber. You really have to pull for a nose, but when you get it, you get a great grass clippings and almost flower like character. Flavor is pretty interesting. Deep, but with an earthy and almost fruit tone. More like fruit thats rearing its last leg. And Im not saying that in a bad way. I just think there is a difference between a piece of vibrant fruit and a mature subdued one. Overall, its smooth. So is the feel. Very easily drinkable. For a strong ale, this is almost too easy to drink.

Grandad's Nerve Tonic - a limited time offering, growler filled at Bierkraft in Brooklyn. This was purchased October 26th.
From the growler, pours a great dark red/brownish color with a very fluffy white (tanish) head.
Nice hop smell, mild floral with a clean crisp aroma.
Malty red ale, incredibly smooth with a nice moderate hop bitterness. No alcohol present at all, really well crafted imperial red ale!
Overall, if you are in the Brooklyn area - or have access to the R train - I would highly suggest trying this beer while it is available.
Definitey worth the price, and you get a CD with it of the band "Grandad's Nerve Tonic."
Awesome place, awesome beer.
