Look: Pours a hazy straw yellow color with a one and a half finger eggshell white head. Laces the glass moderately. Average head retention.

Aroma: Sickly sweet. Lots of pineapple, apricot, banana and confectionary peach / peach jam. Slight notes of funky garlic.

Feel: Light. Bubbly. Still has enough weight to it to avoid being seltzer like or anemic. Milk sugar gives it a weird viscosity that feels almost like plain water thickened with corn starch.

Taste: Fruit-forward. Follows the nose. Peach preserves, pineapple jam, orange sorbet and apricot. Bitterness is low, almost non existant. Alcohol is detectable and slightly unpalatable in contrast with the fruit flavors (in my opinion, some people probably don't mind the alcohol profile). To be honest, it tastes like Hi-C almost. Like someone spiked the punch bowl at a high school reunion.

Overall: Not my favorite from sixpoint. I really don't like the direction they've been taking their beers recently. Another reviewer said it perfectly; this is cough syrup in a can. The addition of so much lactose here is really odd considering how sweet and fruit forward the beer is already, I don't think it needed all that extra milk sugar, it's not exactly like the beer is insanely bitter in the first place and in need of being rounded out.

 

 

I prefer west coast style DIPAs, but do enjoy all IPAs. This was not the typical NE IPA I would enjoy. At first, the the zero IBUs caught me off guard. I really enjoy this IPA! This is the second time trying it and I am enjoying it so much, I am on my third. Highly recommend!

Notes via stream of consciousness: 8.4%, OK... 0 IBUs, doubtful but I get the idea... Galaxy, Strata, Cashmere, & Lactose... It's poured a very hazy golden-orange body beneath a finger's width of creamy white foam. The aroma is fruity, sweetish, floral, and woody. It's definitely unique, and dare I say it, "party" like. The flavor is fuller, and wider, with more sweetness, a rose-like floral note, apples, berries, orange, pineapple, and peach as well as a hint of pine, or at least woodiness. Is there anything else there... perhaps a bit of melon, and a hint of lemon/lime. It is sweet, and although I'm pretty sure they have picked up some IBUs from late hop additions, the sweet malt and lactose acts as a trampoline to launch all of the great fruit flavors. Still, it's not cloying or sticky, which is kind of amazing. There are some residual hop acids, and I guess the alcohol helps to clean it up as well. Interesting to be sure. In the mouth it's medium bodied and dextrinous. It's smooth and creamy. In the end I think that maybe this beer is a little too happy for me, but I do like a good party once in a while.

Served in a teku glass from the can.

Appearance: Hazy hazy gold color with medium bubbles and a white head which initially Rose just over one fingers length off the body.

Smell: mellow orange skin with hints of vanilla. It's soft so front expect it to pack a punch to the nose.

Taste: Strong complex sweet, consisting of malt, light vanilla to the palate and a spoon full of hops. Lactose sugars are evident which seriously offset any bitterness.

Mouth: full body with a soft carbonation. Touch sweet with a mellow vanilla shot at the end.

Overall: Sixpoint made another classic for me, this brew has captured my heart. Needs zero tweaking. Salud!

 

10th review. Way too much sugar in this one. Tastes like old-fashioned dot on a paper strip candy.
a) As always a haze bomb with massive lace and last.
s) Confection more than fruit, lacking in pine or bitter back bite.
t) Follows smell with an near-artificial candied profile. Complex, but candied.
f) even a bit cloying. I would want to blend this with a stout or less sweet ale.
Annoying. Agree with @beerchitect but I usually do.

 

 

Poured out a couple 12 oz. cans into a clear glass liter mug. The color is a murky strawberry blond and there's a nice amount of head and glass lacing. It smells wet and dank, with a little spiciness to some hops. The taste is sweet, almost candylike before some hoppiness kicks in. From beginning to finish, a little more taste of alcohol than would be ideal is present. The added milk sugar makes this a little too sweet and a little too sticky to be thoroughly enjoyed. With the sweetness and alcohol, children's cough syrup becomes reminiscent.

Pour hazed/juicy looking...more hazed then many other "hazy IPAs" from mid sized and larger brewers. Leaves copious amounts of low ringed froth and fine bubble webs of sheeting up and down the glass.

Fully fruited up nose with the expected stone fruits....pungent and yes "dank"

Tasty, fresh, flavorful, fruity, tropical...delicious, especially if you are a fan of the style and enjoy finding a high quality example from a mid sized and well distributed brewery.

More stone fruits, sweet pineapple, kiwi, melon all coming to mind. Delicious, approachable and great to find in a Sixpack at the grocery store...life is good

Can you say ipa IPA milkshake? This is a juicy, cloudy, delicious brew. It is full of tropical fruits like mangoes and pineapple. IBUs are listed as 0 and it tastes like it. Smooth, drinkable with tons of hop flavors and a clean finish. Lots of beer meets milkshake satisfaction. Yum.
