Old world craftsmanship with new, clean flavors. Bright pilsner malts meet Noble hop character. The Crisp, American Pilsner innovation.

We were sixty feet underground when the beer came calling. While sinking tankards in ancient beer caves near the foot of the Alps, inspiration struck -- and at that exact moment, THE CRISP® was born. The can in your hand turns obsession to reality. Now that's Crisp.

Pours light golden yellow with little head retention, actually had to stimulate the beer with a spoon to wake it up a little. Smell is of faint barley and hops with a lemon or citrus type smell. Taste is a sharp hop bite with Pilsner malt and slight lemon aftertaste. In comparison to the German Pilsners it’s different to say the least but not too bad for a domestic take. Very hard style to replicate in the US for some reason, but this is one of the better ones.

There’s something off about this beer… it makes me feel not so good. It’s like having a big bowl at chipotle but the salsa sits a little funky on the drive back home. If I could give the mouth feel a currency it would be liquid coins… that good penny in the mouth taste. Not something I’d go back for, but also something that keeps me wanting more. 1.5/5

RB transfer

Nice medium gold, thin white head. Nose is clean pilsner malt and hops. Bitter on the tongue. The name fits, this beer is dry and crisp through the middle. Despite full bodied malt, the hops steer the bus out the backside. Very solid pilsner...from any continent.|12/2/2012

12oz can BEST BY: 10 JAN 26 PBG 25191 poured into a pilsner glass at fridge temp 5.4% ABV. The beer pours bright light golden yellow with off white head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet pils malt and a hint of orchard fruit. The taste is bittersweet pils malt with grassy and woodsy hop flavor. Moderate bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Cleanly lagered. Overall, very good pilsner.

I’m gonna review this brew, on the strength, that I’ve had it many times over the years. It’s Very accessible, in my area of NY/NJ/Phi. Being a NY brewery. Part of a 15 beer mixed pack. 5 brews x 3 of each. 12oz can dated BB: Nov 12th 2025…on the cusp. Poured aggressively, into a Beck’s tall Pilsner glass. Beautiful, opaque, honey gold. 3 finger, sudsy, white head, that sticks around. Nose, is more malty than it should be, but you can still smell the noble hops, and savory emanations. Lacing, is perfect. This pilz, Is not as clean/crisp as it is on a newer batch/can…but that’s stating the obvious. However, given that this beer is a year young? Still, loaded with flavour & smoothness. Just slightly less hoppy. At a year? Better than most off the production line. Cheers!

Pale gold body with excellent clarity; tight white head; very good cap retention; heavy ring; bands of soapy lace. Bready malt nose. Taste follows nose. Crisp clean mouth feel with moderate carbonation. A very enjoyable beer on a warm afternoon.

Great tasting and smelling beer. Didn't get a nice foamy head as others might've had.

Golden color. Nice, white head. Aroma of malt, grass, and a hint of citrus. Refreshing, herbal bitterness in taste. Malty backbone. Good, classy pilsner.

Drinking in a stemless Teku.
Pours a clear copper color with a thick full head.
Some slight smell of caramel and malt.
Fair mouth feel.
Tastes slightly of malt, caramel.
Not inspired.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a two finger height head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a bready and yeasty smell mixed with a moderate showing of caramel. Other light aromas of cereal grains, hay, and herbal hops are there as well.
Taste – The taste begins with a crisp cracker and cereal grain flavor mixed with a touch of the yeast that was in the nose and some light caramel and apple flavors. There is a touch of herbal hop and a bit of earthy hop which create a backdrop flavor. Some light hay and more grain develop at the end, leaving one, as the name of the beer suggests, with a nice crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body thin and light with a higher carbonation level. For the style the feel is great and makes for a nice easy sipper.
Overall – A rather nice crisp and clean brew. Easy drinking.

Not a bad beer, look is offsetting, clearish slightly yellowish. Smell is faint, nothing discernible . Mouthfeel is slightly carbonated. Just not for me, I got it in a Six Point multi pack. Would not seek it out.

It looks right. It is light and refreshing. The complexity on the palate is lacking. It does taste crisp and is refreshing but not great. The malt seems to be on vacation.
