In a pint glass, which was filled from a tap, it came. There's a slight soft head on top of a lightly hued copper-amber liquid. It sort of straddles the line between clear and cloudy. The aroma is mildly honey sweet and even less malty and hoppy. To taste, there's really nothing out of balance regarding expectations. The honey sweetness is only barely noticeable, as it includes some of the earthiness a well layered honey provides. The malting is wonderful, it's nice to find barley malt inclusion in an American IPA wort. Then, the citrus/pine like hops kick in to clean up the finish and more than compensate for the honey. This even provides some nice glass lacing, whilst delivering a somewhat sweet, yet solid AIPA.
