Had on tap at Max's, described on the beer list as a "Mexican Ale"... can't say I've seen that one before, so obviously had to give it a try. Pours a murky brown color, not much aroma. Taste is a bit... odd. Just an okay mouthfeel, kind of stale taste upfront, lighter on the back end. Kind of confusing to be honest, not sure what style they were going for but taste wise it's a bit of a mess. Might pass on the next 'mexican ale' I come across...

A- a good brown color with an off white head about a finger high and sticky lace on the glass.
s- orange and grapefruit come from the hops, malty bread and biscuit also present.
t- very piney and citrusy almost like an ipa but the bready malt makes this a hoppy brown. wish there was more here, like bitter chocolate or coffee.
o- a solid brown that seems like just a bit is missing. Still a very sixpointy take on a brown that I enjoyed very much.

32oz growler filled at Whole Foods served in a nonic pint glass.
L - mahogany color with a off-white head that settled down leaving plenty of lacing.
S - a blend of roasted malt and citrus hops.
T - as with the aroma this beer has a nice balance of sweet roasted malt and bitter citrus hops.
F - medium bodied with a smooth yet crisp feel, it goes down easy.
O - a good example of the style done the Sixpoint way.

16oz growler picked up yesterday locally.
a - through the growler a deep brown that mildly let light pass through. poured into 2 brooklyn 13oz snifters with a nice thin off-white head that dissolved quickly, but could rebuilt with a quick swirl.
s - brown sugars, molasses, earthiness, but very balanced and tamed with an appropriate amount of sweetness.
t - starts with a really nice brown ale...then slides into a strong hopping and finishes a touch bitter. it is quite good.
m - a bit fizzy...finishes a touch bitter, but cooling
o - very good brown ale. i didn't love the hopping in diesel, but here, it seems to work really well. this one would do well in their canning program.

This beer was somewhat of a surprise for me, I didn't think I would like it but I did.
Beer is brown and clear with a lazy head of small bubbles, some lacing, low carbonation.
Aroma is roastier than I thought it would be, mildly grainy, some sweetness.
Beer is medium in body and quite sweet on the front but in a good way, the finish of the beer is a little bitter with some ash and some roast, more than I expected, this is like a weak little stout, interesting, I'd have it again.

was at the max's event after trying and sampling all of the good stuff in DC i heard about sixpoint and knew i had to try more of them
ok my beer poured a murky brown color and had a nice white head on it and it smelled like a tootsie roll :-)
taste was just so outstanding it had so much flavor and character for a brown ale is this is what newcastle is supposed to taste like :-)
mouthfeel had a little bit of slickness to it but not too much just enought o make it real interesting
i really hope to see this more often but according to one of the brewer reps there it was a very rare brew just for this one occassion i am glad i went to max's! :-)

I had this on-tap at Max's. They had 30 Sixpoint beers on at once. Poured into a tasting glass.
Appearance: Pours brown with off white head and some lacing.
Smell: Very mild and a bit soapy. There is a malty, nutty quality as well.
Taste: Mildly nutty with bready malt and a bitter finish. I would have liked the malt presence to be a bit more intense.
Mouthfeel: The body is on the thin side. Smooth carbonation and a mildly dry finish.
Overall: Not a great brown ale. The malt presence needed to be amped up just a bit. I would have one of the other Sixpoint offerings before I had this one again.

Had this beer late night over at Calexico. Server said its an exclusive beer for the Calexico team. Had to try it. Beer came out with brown color cafe color. Little murkiness there. Big huge hop nose. Lots of roasted nuts too. Whoa. Super crisp and tart finish. Nice roast flavor but the lightness of an IPA. Damn. Going down easy. Ordered three more and put them down with my beans and pescado. Best brown ale I have had in a while. Love Sixpoint beers so far.
