Introducing LIL' SHUCKER. This 5.2% Kölsch is a partnership with Billion Oyster Project, a NYC-based nonprofit working to replenish the NY Harbor's historic oyster population. With a subtle malt sweetness, wine-like apple & pear fruitiness, and a balanced hop profile, this one is easy to toss back. And you can feel good about having a few, because we're donating a portion of proceeds back to Billion Oyster Project.

Golden and very clear with white head. Head gives way to white ring that grips the glass. Nose is a little musty with a hint of maltiness. Taste was sweet with a peppery feel. A slight bitterness on backend, but nothing overpowering.

A little of history and a little of modern invention and necessity, Sixpoint pulls it all together for a light and easy drinking beer for lovers of lager and more cleverly crafted ale alike.

Pale gold and slightly hazy, Lil’ Shucker strikes a snappy hop scent laced with light floral and fruity scents as soon as the frothy white cap emerges. A mild mannered sweetness brings a fresh bread, light honey and wafer flavor in a crisp malty display.

Hops bounce off the palate as its floral scent trends fruity with citrus peel, lemon and apple character as the sweetness starts to break apart. Trending spicy, grassy and more Germanic, the late taste frames a lemon pepper, lemongrass, tea leaf and herbal grasses final impression.

A little too snappy and minerally crisp, and a little too hoppy, the beer seems to be more of a session pale ale than anything Kolsch, siding much more to the golden ale character.

Poured from a pint can into a pint glass. One finger white head sits a top a clear, golden yellow body of beer. Aroma is slightly malty. First sip has some sweetness from the malts, a bit of fruit and a nice crispness with a clean finish. As the brewer points out, perfect with a plate of oysters on a hal fshell by the shore. And you get the satisfaction of knowing some portion goes to the Billion Oyster Project, a very worthy cause.
