Enjoyed on tap at the Armsby Abbey. Poured into a standard pint glass.

A - Pours a dark, oily black with a one finger mocha head that fades to leave nice thick side lacing and a solid blanket.

S - Lots of rich, roasted malts and chocolate with a very light tartness. Needs more cranberry.

T - Similiar to the nose there is not alot of cranberry in this, which for me was the draw for this beer. There is good chocolate and roasted malts with a light tart finish.

M - Mouthfeel is good. Nice and smooth and creamy.

O - Overall this is a good porter in general, but where is the cranberries?! Really, the draw is supposed to be cranberries but I cant seem to find them.

On tap at Rustico in Alexandria. Served in a goblet.

Pours near black with a short off white head and just a bit of lacing. Thin collar throughout. The nose carries a fair amount of roast along with a touch of ash and chocolate. Somee slight cranberry character in the background as well.

The flavor has a bit more cranberry and just a bit of fruity tartness in the background. The base roast lapt carries the day. Medium body with good fruit and just a bit of tartness. Nice carbonation and a semi-dry finish. Pretty good.

12oz bottle courtesy of a NY beer friend.

Pours a dark mahogany with a creamy khaki head that settles to a slight cap. Pleasantly roasty aromas of dark malt, coffee beans, caramel, and a touch of cranberry. Doubt I'd immediately guess "cranberry" if I didn't know better, probably just a general tartness more then anything. Taste exhibits a bit more cranberry character then the nose, along with more cocoa, coffee beans, and dark roasted malt. Mouthfeel is smooth and quite creamy, with a medium-full body and good carbonation. Overall a solidly drinkable Porter, cranberry character or not, that I'd definitely drink again.

on tap at tapestry in philly

Pours opaque brown, almost black, fluff of beige head, streaks of lacing left on the glass.

Somewhat rich in the nose with roasted dark malts and chocolate. Nutty with a hint of cranberry sweetness.

Starts off toasty and malty with dark flavor. The cranberry adds a fruity sweetness with a light tartness and acid from the skin. Dark chocolate and faint coffee with nuttiness. Finishes with another touch of the cranberry.

Lighter medium body, decent carb, a little chewy. Pretty nice combo, could use a thicker feel though to make it a little creamy. This is one of those beers that sounds like it could go horribly wrong but I really enjoyed it.
