This was made to be the first beer for the improvisation and Jazz community. This was done by each brewer adding an ingredient without knowing what the other brewers were adding.

A- pours a hazy orange with a inch of eggshell colored head, some sticky lace.

S- the smell is mostly a grainy malt with a touch of smoked peat, a bit of orange and some hops.

t- the smoke is quite subtle, the hops are a bit restrained as well. What really comes through is a bready and lightly sweet and fruity flavor, which works nicely with the underlying peaty flavor. Mouthfeel is a little thin.

o- I love the concept behind this and I am really glad I could try it. The end result is a beer with some bright moments, but also a beer that is a little unfocused and doesn't really hit any huge flavors, as they are all a little bit muddled. Still, a fun and different beer.

Picked up a growler of this from the Whole Foods Bowery Beer Room in NYC.

A - This beer pours a nice orangish amber color. It has a little more than a finger of slightly off-white head resting on top. The head has pretty good retention, and it leave some scattered lace behind on the glass.

S - The nose has some nice toasted maltiness and and some smoked meat aromas. Also there are some floral notes, as well as some light hop aromas.

T - The taste follows the nose pretty well. It starts out with some toasted malt flavor and a nice amount of smoke. There is a nice hop presence on the back end that give some nice bitterness. The finish leaves some lingering hop bitterness and smoked meat flavors behind on the palate.

M - This has a medium body and good carbonation. It goes down easy and has a nice smooth feel to it. There is some initial sweetness and a nice smoke presence. Also, There is a nice amount of hop bitterness on the back end.

O - This has good drinkability. Overall, I think this is a good beer with a cool concept behind it. The amount of smoke was really nice, and the beer goes down quite easy. I recommend trying this out if you are a fan of rauchbiers or beers with smoked malt. I would buy again.
